Nepal: Covid-19 travel restrictions

International travel to Nepal is permitted. It is necessary to comply with the requirements to ensure that entry is permitted. Transmission of COVID-19 is unknown in Nepal. The level of transmission is based on global health and disease data from John Hopkins University, updated in March 2023.

Nepal: is a vaccine necessary to travel there?

Travelers who present a valid certificate of full vaccination against COVID-19 are exempt from pre-departure testing and testing upon arrival. Nepal: is a PCR test necessary to travel there?

Unvaccinated travelers must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test within the previous 72 hours upon arrival. RT-PCR, True NAAT and Gene Xpert tests are acceptable.
Travelers who have been fully vaccinated with Covid-19 for more than 14 days are not affected by this measure.

Unvaccinated travelers may be tested for antigenic diseases free of charge upon arrival. If the test is positive, travelers should follow the instructions of the health authorities.

Nepal: are medical examinations required for travelers?

All passengers are subject to health checks upon arrival, such as temperature checks and visual assessment. Additional health tests may be required for those with symptoms of COVID-19.
