Everything is done entirely online, you don't have to send anything by mail and you don't have to go anywhere. The "e-Visa" can be requested on this form. The passport photo and the passport will be sent once the form is completed. The agreement is materialized by the reception of a travel authorization in electronic form (PDF) which will have to be printed and presented at the arrival in Myanmar.

You can enter Myanmar through one of these 8 places: the airports of Mandalay, Yangon, Nay Pyi Taw or the borders at Tachileik, Myawaddy, Kawthaung, Tamu or Rih khaw dar. You must be out of the country at the time of application and have a way to leave the country (return air ticket, etc).

The e-Visa is valid for tourist trips (28 days maximum and 1 entry per person). Travelers must have a passport valid for at least 6 months on the date of arrival in Myanmar. Once issued, you must enter Myanmar with the authorization within 90 days. The validity period of the visa will then start from your arrival in the country, and not from the issue of the authorization. We advise you to apply at least 3 days before your arrival in Myanmar.

Is it safe to travel to Myanmar now, given the latest coup?

Myanmar suffered a military coup on February 1, 2021, followed by a period of political unrest and large-scale demonstrations throughout the country. As a result, the security situation in the country is currently unpredictable.

The foreign ministries of many countries, including France, are urging caution due to the civil unrest and uncertain security situation.

Can I apply for a visa in Burma?

The tourist visa is available on arrival only for the following nationalities: Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Russia and Australia.
In all other cases, the visa will be requested upon boarding by the airline or shipping company. This document is not issued upon arrival. Immigration officials do not have a dedicated counter for this procedure on arrival.

I am entering Myanmar by sea, do I need to apply for an e-visa?

Yes, if you enter Myanmar by sea, you must apply for an electronic visa before your trip.

Does the Myanmar e-visa allow arrival from neighboring countries?

Tourists with Burmese e-Visas can now arrive in Myanmar from two Indian border posts:

  • The land checkpoint of Tamu
  • Rihkhawdar land checkpoint

and three Thai border crossings:

  • Kawthaung Land Border (Thailand)
  • Myawaddy Land Border (Thailand)
  • Tachileik Land Border (Thailand)

Can I enter and leave Myanmar through another entry point than those indicated?

No, the e-Visa allows you to enter only through the airports of Yangon, Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw, and the land borders: Tachileik, Myawaddy, Kawthaung, Tamu or Rih Khaw dar. If you enter the country through any other place, then you will not be able to use the e-Visa.

How long does it take to apply for an evisa for Myanmar?

Processing time is at least three business days. This processing time begins once the application has been submitted and the online payment has been successfully completed.

How long is the evisa valid for Myanmar?

The e-Visa for Myanmar is valid for 90 days from the date of issue. Therefore, you must enter Myanmar within three months after its issue. If you apply more than three months before your departure, we will take care to issue the visa at the right time.

How long can I stay in Myanmar with my evisa?

The authorized stay is 28 days for the tourist visa and 70 days for the business visa.

Can I use my evisa for several trips to Myanmar?

No, you can only use it once to enter Myanmar. Once you leave the country, the evisa will not be valid anymore and you will have to get a new one if you plan to come back

How do I know if my Burmese evisa is approved?

If the application was not made through our services, you can retrieve your e-Visa from the official website, in the "Status Enquiry" section. As a reminder, the e-Visa is only sent by email at the time of application.

Do I need to apply for a Burmese evisa for a baby?

Everyone, regardless of age, needs a visa to enter Myanmar. Therefore, you will need to submit a separate e-visa application for your baby. The application process and requirements for the e-visa are the same for adults and children.

Do children under 7 years old who have their own passport need to apply for a separate Myanmar e-visa?

Yes, children under the age of 7 who have their own passport must apply for their own e-visa.

Do I need to apply for an exit permit for my child?

Each country has its own requirements. If the minor leaves the French territory without a legal guardian, he or she must have an AST (authorization to leave the country). This document can be requested online, and must be filled out by one of the holders of parental authority. When traveling, this form must be accompanied by a copy of the identity card of the legal guardian.

Do I need to print my e-Visa for Burma?

There is no obligation, but we recommend that you always take a hard copy (printed) or digital copy (on your smartphone, tablet or laptop) of your e-visa with you when you travel.

What documents do I need to present when boarding a flight to Burma?

The required documents are: your passport (valid at least six months after your planned departure date from Myanmar), your return ticket, a vaccination certificate and your visa.

In addition, you may also be asked to prove that you have sufficient funds to support yourself during your stay in Myanmar, as well as a hotel reservation or itinerary indicating your travel plans.

Do I need a vaccination certificate to apply for an evisa for Myanmar?

Yes, travelers must be fully vaccinated with the vaccines approved by the Myanmar Ministry of Health for more than 14 days prior to arrival in Myanmar. The vaccination certificate must be attached to the application.

Which vaccines are mandatory in Myanmar?

The certificate of vaccination against yellow fever will be mandatory if you come from a country at risk. In case of doubt, consult the detailed list of mandatory and recommended vaccines for Myanmar.

For which travel purposes can I apply for an evisa for Myanmar?

The electronic visa is required for all foreign nationals who wish to travel to Myanmar for tourism or business purposes.

Do I need an evisa for a transit in Myanmar?

If you stay less than 24 hours in Myanmar and continue your trip to a third country, you can obtain a transit visa upon arrival. It will cost you 20 USD($19). This visa is only available at the airports of : Yangon, Mandalay andNay Pyi Taw.

Can I extend my evisa for Myanmar?

The Tourist e-Visa cannot be extended. You should not stay more than 28 days in Burma. However, the business e-visa can be extended. You are required to stay in the country during this procedure, which is done online.
